Back in 1983, when I was only fifteen years of age, my older sister read an article, a report that there were apparitions in Yugoslavia, as it was then, and we just decided to come — a bunch of teenagers. We came here just to try and find out more.
Medjugorje has impacted my life in so many different ways. That experience when I was a teenager really renewed my faith. And it had a huge impact on my wider family. It led my parents to turn our home into a Catholic retreat center. Then, out of this, this work of Mary’s Meals grew which has become my life’s work. And I met wife doing that work as well, so everything about my life, in some way, is connected to Medjugorje.
I would encourage anyone to come to Medjugorje that hasn’t come, whether they believe or not. I’m not sure there’s a lot to lose by coming here. There’s certainly a huge amount to gain, and we see that in the lives of so many thousands of people around the world. That’s something that fascinates me. I travel a lot to different countries, and so often I encounter beautiful works, beautiful projects, and so often you can trace them back to Medjugorje, to people whose lives have been changed here. So I really believe Medjugorje is changing the world in many different ways.
I would encourage everyone just to come and experience it for yourself.
