This is my first time here.

My friend had told me to join him. I was interested enough so I decided to come.

I had only heard of Medjugorje superficially, but never in any detail.

A highlight of this trip is being with other people of faith. That always helps strengthen my faith.

On March 18th [during Mirjana’s annual apparition], I did the Rosary on Apparition Hill. I honestly did’t expect to see anything. I was hoping, but I didn’t expect. As I expected, I didn’t see anything. 

As I was coming back from there, all these people were in front of Mirjana’s house. It was very congested. A lady in front of me was looking up in the sky. I was a little irritated that people were stopping. 

I finally turned around and looked up, and I saw a perfectly blue sky, no clouds, and three small balls appear very high up. That turned into like white birds, really high up, slow moving, circling. It looked like maybe six or eight of them. They would appear and disappear.

That happened for maybe five minutes. I pulled my eyes away and looked at another person who was in our tour group, and she was looking at the same thing. I stared at it until it went away.

My friend saw it also. He was down the street in a different place. It was fascinating that all of us saw the same thing. 

He had said that’s typical of something that will happen sometimes after a Marian miracle. I’m a physician so I’m designed to always scientifically look at things. There’s no other explanation for me. 

Already, this trip has strengthened my faith, being with other people who practice. I live in a rural area, and the part of the United States where I live is not very religious. People don’t share their religion very much, even within church. 

That experience changed everything, seeing those things. I wouldn’t say if I had not seen it I wouldn’t be as faithful as I am, but it certainly makes me look at everything I believe with a lot more certainty. There’s very little doubt now.

The other thing that captivated me was I saw it, other people saw it, and then we just went back to our lives. I can see how these things probably happen all the time, and yet the news doesn’t come and movies aren’t always made about them.

If you’re Catholic, and you want to strengthen your faith, this would be the place to do it. This would be a good place to start if you’re fresh to traveling towards religious sites.
