What do you think when people say there are too many shops here?

You will see so many stores and restaurants, but it’s built upon request of the needs of the other people. We are trying to serve them when we can. 

Everything that happens in Medjugorje, it’s inspired and helped by the pilgrims. 

There is no such thing as too many rosaries, the same as too many prayers. 

One priest taught me something when he examined my project about creating a medal with the three archangels. I said, “Is it canonically correct to do this?” This priest is very theologically educated. He told me, “Anything that is in service of God you don’t have to be afraid of as long as you keep it that way.”

I think God is everywhere, in every item if it helps the person to get inspired by the Holy Spirit.

Our job, anybody who is taking it seriously, it’s not to become rich. It’s beyond that. It’s to finish the job. To help people that need something on their devotional path. 

I don’t think it’s possible to be rich with this kind of job, but it’s definitely something that will provide for your family a reasonable and decent life. That’s possible if you do it correctly. We try our best here in Medjugorje Jewelry store to do this kind of mission.

And yes, my wife and me, we are all completely in it, devoted to it, and we like our job.

We had this small bracelet we started to share seven years ago of Our Lady Undoer of Knots. Each year we share like 20,000 to anyone who enters the store. The novena is the favorite novena of Pope Francis. It’s an ancient story that’s his favorite. He said that anyone who prays this novena can resolve generational sins and sins that they forget or don’t know. 

We decided this will be our small mission. We employ three families to continuously produce the bracelets so we can donate them to people for no charge at all. I know after every year I will have 500 to 1,000 people come to me, not to thank me. I haven’t done anything except to make that bracelet and give it as a gift. They tell me that it has accomplished their mission. Such things are happening.

I had a beautiful experience a couple months ago. In my shop, there was a person from Paraguay and there was a person from Uzbekistan. It’s two completely different parts of the world, but yet their basic reason was the same. It was to be closer to Jesus, to be closer to their spiritual needs, and to be closer to Our Lady. 

Sometimes you can see the people that nobody else or nothing else can help them. They will come here to Medjugorje to surrender themselves completely to Jesus. There are so many of those kinds of experiences. Seeing that every day is encouraging, motivating spiritually. 

It’s the most important thing, not judging Medjugorje by the material. Medjugorje needs to be observed and experienced. You cannot see it, you cannot feel it, you cannot smell it. You have to experience it by the whole heart to be able to understand it. 

First of all, it takes a lot of time, observing. And for each individual it’s possible to be seeing it differently. Yet I think for each person who is ready to have it, he can feel the peace. That’s the common thing that I have noticed in Medjugorje. 

Looking for material evidence is not even to be expected. It’s more about the spiritual things that we deal with here. It’s nothing like, you know, that the visionaries have seen Our Lady and they are the chosen ones. I think it’s the wrong motive to be expecting the same thing, but if you come for saving your soul or to resolve your intention, that’s very possible. I’ve seen that. I’ve seen changes in people, not around the people, but in people.
